Evaluation

Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge the forms of conventions of real media products?

Q2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In The Core young people a represented in a different way from the stereotype that has been given to them from the older generations, they will be portrayed in my magazine as the normal teenager who can be successful in a positive way. The magazine won't just be focused on the young stars it will also focus on the currents stars and stars from the past to keep it a balanced magazine not just for today's youth but for adults and teenagers. Having the broader range in the magazine will reduce social stereotypes since adults seem to associate most of today's youth with violence and misbehavior and most teenagers have associated adults with being boring. In the first issue of the magazine it will address the issue of the adults version of youth stereotyping as the new up and coming star who has been interviewed has shown that she lives just a normal life, attends college and meets up with her friends to go out for a day out in the town.

Q3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The Core would be produced and distributed by a large magazine publishing company called IPC media, I have chosen this company because it would fit the gap in the magazine market. IPC already publish a well know music magazine called NME.

If the magazine was published by IPC it wouldn't take business away from it current music magazine’s since this magazine is a general broad magazine when the other magazines are specialized on one or two sections of the music industry.

The Core will be available for consumers to buy at these retailers; HMV, WHSmiths, ASDA, Tesco, Morrisions, The Co-op.The magazine would be still distributed at HMV but the company has went into administration so they would not be a suitable retailer for the magazine.

Q4 Who would be the audience for you media product?

5. How Did you attract/address your audience?

In the magazine it has encouraged readers from the magazine looking more youthful that other magazine since it is introduced at new and up and coming artist with the everyday artist included within  the magazine too. The audience also enjoyed the fact that the magazine had a constant house style throughout the magazine, it gave the magazine a full flowing feeling. The first issue of a magazine always comes with a few flaws and they were identified but then the publisher and the magazine editor will learn form this mistakes to make a better and consistent product. The video above shows the audience feedback that I have received on my magazine product and they suggest ways that I would be able to improve my product in many ways.

Text For Double Page Spread Article

T oday we caught up with the new  Rising star Aimee McKenna the new rising UK star with her brand new single ‘Kiss’  who describes her single as the song for anyone. She has described herself to have captured her inspiration from her hometown of Liverpool where The Beetles music career thrived. We moved on to ask Aimee questions and her thoughts about her brand new career.
How did you start off your career in the music business? I never expected for my singing to take me anywhere, I was just doing covers of songs on YouTube for a little hobby. I was soon contacted by an agent who wanted to get me to record in a studio.
This all must be thrilling for a teenage girl who’s only just turned 17, how’re you handling the sudden rise to fame? It’s not something I expected to happen obviously in the short amount of time it did. I was getting followed to college by paparazzi and I didn’t like it since it has been distracting me from my work at college. I think I’m coping well if I’m honest with myself but it’s not abnormal having teenage stars these days because you have many such as Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and One Direction.
Has the rise to fame brought any complications with your family and friends? Well it hasn’t brought complications between my family and friends just they’ve found it annoying when we’ve been walking around and we can’t get any privacy because people have been following us around. But that’s one of the things what you get for living in the fast lane.
With ‘Kiss’ being your fourth song to reach number one in the UK charts and in the charts over in America, when do you think your full album will be released? Well I am proud to announce that I have finished work on my full album and it will be released on the 18th December, just in time for Christmas and that is the date I posted my first cover on YouTube so it’s sort of an anniversary present to my fans.

So with your album complete what can we expect from you in the coming year? Well I am going to take Christmas off to enjoy myself with my family as you would expect. I will start a world tour next year which the date have been posted on my website now, then at the end of the year I will start working on some new material.
So how does it feel to perform in front of huge crowds? I still get nervous when I’m performing and I get really scared when I’m walking onto the stage, but when I start performing I get my confidence and then start enjoying myself once again. The crowds are really great and welcoming.

We asked our followers on Twitter that we would be interviewing Aimee and we asked them to reply with some questions they would like her to answer with the hashtag #AskAimee and we’re going to publish some of her answers.

@style_queen756 asks: How do you have enough time with you busy schedule to look so pretty? I think a girl will always find enough time to get her papering schedule involved with her working on.

@yallsXstyles asks: Who are you thinking of collaborating with in the future? I would like to collaborate with Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and even Lady Gaga if I ever get that honour of working with one of my idols.

@Berry_lick asks: What currently is your favourite song? Urm well I’m currently listening to P!NKS new album and I just find her music amazing.

@Sammie-Byrne143 asks: Is it true that you’re dating a member of 1D? *Laughs* Well I don’t know where people are getting their sources from these days but, No I’m not dating a member of 1D but I am in a happy relationship with someone who has been there well before I released my first single.

@Ben-smith434 asks: What do you like to do when you’re not in the studio or doing interviews? Generally I like to do all the stuff that I enjoyed doing before because I’ve not changed so I wouldn’t expect my previous habbits to change.

Push_baby95 asks: Do you think you’ll ever go into acting or will you stick to being a singer? To be completely honest I would go into acting because then it would widen my range of talents, plus I don’t have to be an actor I could be a song featured in a film.
